The Onyfix nail correction system enables completely painless treatment of almost all forms of involuted and ingrown toenails.

Our Podiatrist fixes it to your nail, which is then brought back into its natural shape as it grows. The whole process is pain-free, during application and throughout the entire treatment!

Onyfix Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to apply Onyfix?

Onyfix can usually be applied during your allotted appointment time as it only takes about 10 minutes to apply, but your practitioner will guide you through each step. 

How long does the Onyfix band last for on the nails?

Onyfix bands will usually last at least 3 months or longer. In the majority of cases it stays in place until it grows right out with the nail. You may have to have more than one band applied as your nail is corrected over time, depending on the severity of the deformity.

Can my patients wear nail polish over the top of the Onyfix strip?

Yes, provided that they are using a nail polish that can be removed with acetone or liquid nail polish remover. 

A gel or shellac polish that requires mechanical debridement or filing to be removed should not be used as the Onyfix strip may come off during mechanical debridement.

After Your Onyx Appointment

For optimal results it’s important to follow the following instructions:

  • Avoid swimming or bath tubs for 24hours
  • Avoid wearing tight fitting or narrow shoes
  • Nail polish can still be applied however patients cannot use shellac or other acrylic toenails.
