VALD Performance Assessments

Elite Foot Care are proud to provide patients with a unique access to high performance data measurement tools used to thoroughly assess and optimise all musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

VALD Human Measurement Technology are the leaders in data collection worldwide, with Elite Foot Care being one of the only podiatrists in Queensland to utilise the technology seen in an elite sporting environment, including NRL, AFL, NBA and English Premier League clubs.

How does a VALD assessment improve rehabilitation?

Our podiatrists take the guessing game out of rehabilitation. Collecting quantitative data (numbers), our podiatrists will assess and determine strength asymmetries and other pivotal insights which will then be used to guide strength and conditioning programs.

Determining muscles which are 10%, 20% or even 80% weaker than the other side allow us to determine the true underlying issues for your pain.

Senior Podiatrist Jarrod McGuinness Discusses VALD Performance Assessments

VALD Dynamo

The VALD DynaMo is utilised by our experienced podiatrists to measure the strength which is output by any muscle of the lower limb. Our podiatrists are able to isolate and test muscles from the hip to the toes and determine how much force is produced.

What Conditions does the VALD DynaMo Benefit?

  • Muscle and tendon strains – determining weakness and ensuring improvements through your rehabilitation
  • Pre- and Post-surgical rehabilitation – optimise the rehabilitation and prevent any long-term imbalances after surgery
  • Hip, knee or ankle arthritis – in the majority of cases the soft tissue surrounding the arthritic joint is weak and inflamed. Allow us to identify the dysfunctional areas and improve your function without the need for surgery!

VALD ForceDecks

The VALD ForceDecks are a dual force plate system which provides real-time feedback during a multitude of physical movements.

Ranging from single leg balance through to hopping – the ForceDecks allow us to measure hundreds of different elements which will guide our podiatrists in optimising rehabilitation or improving performance.

When are the ForceDecks used?

  • Falls prevention – our podiatrists are experienced in falls prevention and will utilise the ForceDecks to accurately measure your balance and track the improvements from our falls prevention programs.
  • Athlete performance and injury risk modification – the technology is able to assess and identify evidence-based injury risk factors and strive to reduce your risk of injury throughout your sporting season.
  • Post-surgical rehabilitation – our podiatrists use the technology to address functional imbalances (squat, jumping) and ensure your rehabilitation is optimised.

Who would benefit from this technology?

Bringing the high-performance knowledge and technology to all patients on the Sunshine Coast. You do not need to be an elite sportsperson to benefit from the state of the art technology. Elite Foot Care strives to bridge the gap between the weekend warrior and those performing at an elite level.

Our technology has been used to address chronic hipknee and ankle pathologies which have been managed by countless health professionals. We are able to simplify the assessment process and deep dive into what the true underlying issue is.
